howdy.

I'm Aleece, a 30 year old graphic designer + marketing professional based in Glen Dale, WV. I found my calling in non-profit work and I hope to continue applying my skills in a way that helps those in need.

I am also a huge goofball who enjoys the silly bits of life. While I could've used a professional and proper headshot, I think this photo of me and my chunky pet cat in a bear hat is much more interesting to look at.

about me.

I have lived in West Virginia since I was four. After being selected for the Governor's School for the Arts in 2009 and graduating from Musselman High School, I attended West Liberty University to receive my bachelor's in graphic design. Since graduating and departing from the Hilltop, I have used my graphic design skills in various businesses, while also learning and pursuing marketing along the way. I have utilized my graphic design and marketing skills for businesses and organizations like Crittenton Services, Wheeling Island Casino, Williams Lea, A&B Kia, Xtreme Powersports, John Marshall Robotics, and more.

In the beginning of the 2020 COVID pandemic, I was hired at the Wheeling Island Casino for a marketing position. After constant struggles with staffing, health restrictions, business model changes, and other pandemic-related issues, I was presented with a new challenge: learning general database marketing. In order to do my best despite the world exploding around me (and all of us), I learned and utilized these new skills to support the Wheeling Island Casino team. After roughly 2.5 years, I wanted to return to my creative roots along with these new skills under my belt.

Fast forward to the fall of 2022, and I am offered a position at Crittenton Services; a local non-profit which provides mental and behavioral health services to women, children, families, and individuals through a wide range of services to promote healing and empowerment. As a person who was diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood and believes in the astronomical benefits of accessible mental health programs, working at Crittenton Services has been exceptionally lifechanging and pivotal to my professional and personal growth. I truly feel that I "found my calling" in non-profit work; the joy I experience in utilizing my creativity for positive change is the personal fulfillment I've been unknowingly seeking.

I look forward my future in the non-profit sector and hope to continue applying my unique set of skills while also learning new ones and fostering positive relationships in a way that helps my community.

hmu.
